Barnstaple Safer Streets

What is Barnstaple Safer Streets?

Barnstaple Safer Streets is a series of projects which will increase feelings of safety for users of Barnstaple town centre.

Each intervention will have a direct impact on reducing and preventing antisocial behaviour and incidents of violence against women and girls (VAWG).

The projects have been designed and tailored in partnership with Devon and Cornwall Police, the Office for the Police and Crime Commissioner, Barnstaple Town Council, Devon County Council and local schools, who are all committed to delivering the plan.

The Barnstaple Safer Streets projects have been made possible thanks to funding from the Home Office’ Safer Streets Fund.

The Home Office is providing £348,632 of its Safer Streets fund, with £179,126 of match (additional) funding from North Devon Council and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
